Jandiala Guru, March 5 (Komal, Gursewak Bhullar) – The election for the posts of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Block Samiti was held today at the BDPO office in Jandiala Guru. Amrik Singh Sodhi (Devidas Pura) was unanimously elected as Chairman, while Ravinder Singh was elected as Vice Chairman. It is noteworthy that the Block Samiti Jandiala Guru has a total of 25 members, out of which 21 members have been elected from the Aam Aadmi Party.

On this occasion, Punjab Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO congratulated the newly elected Chairman Amrik Singh Sodhi and Vice Chairman Ravinder Singh. He stated that in the Block Samiti elections, the people have given a huge mandate to the Aam Aadmi Party, making it clear that this victory belongs to the common people.
He further said that the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has fulfilled the promises made to the people during its four-year tenure. He also mentioned that the government will soon fulfill its promise of providing ₹1,000 per month to women.
Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO also stated that around 45,000 kilometers of roads are being constructed across the state. Since forming the government in 2022, the Punjab government has been continuously working to fulfill the dreams of great national leaders. He added that while previous governments created irregularities in the fields of education and employment, the current government has opened doors for government jobs for the youth and has provided more than 65,000 government jobs in the past four years.
The minister also informed that the Punjab government has launched the Chief Minister Health Scheme, which is the largest health reform program in the state. Under this scheme, every Punjabi family will receive cashless medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh. Earlier the limit was ₹5 lakh, which has now been doubled. Around 6.5 million families will benefit from this scheme.
Newly elected Chairman Amrik Singh Sodhi thanked party convener Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO for entrusting him with this responsibility. He said he would fulfill his duties with full dedication and that the overall development of villages would be his top priority.
