Amritsar, September 12 (K.L. Jit Walia): The Freshers’ Festival “Aagaz 2026” concluded successfully with great enthusiasm and celebration at the Global Group of Institutes on September 12.
On the final day of the festival, the programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi, Vice Chairman of Global Group of Institutes. He was joined by Campus Director Dr. M.S. Saini, Director Admissions Prof. B.D. Sharma, and Dean Student Welfare Dr. P.K. Sharma.
Students from the first and second years of B.Sc. MLS, OTT, AOTT and Radiology departments participated in the programme. Senior students warmly welcomed their new juniors through an entertaining and colourful cultural programme featuring impressive dance performances, melodious singing and a remarkable display of artistic talent.
Students from diverse backgrounds showcased their rich heritage and presented glimpses of the cultures of their respective regions. The entire event was filled with joy, excitement and a spirit of friendship, providing seniors and juniors with an opportunity to interact and build bonds that could last a lifetime.
The new students interacted freely with their seniors, who gave them a warm welcome. The packed auditorium thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding performances, creating an energetic and vibrant atmosphere throughout the event.
The major attraction of the festival was the fashion show and ramp walk organised for the selection of “Mr. Fresher” and “Miss Fresher.” Dr. Suman Nair and Dr. Maninder Singh served as judges for the competition.

Dr. Akashdeep Singh Chandi congratulated all the winners and appreciated every participant for their outstanding performances. On the occasion, Dr. Manbir Kaur, Principal of the Pharmacy Department, along with faculty members from various departments, was also present.
Cultural Coordinator Prof. Raghu Kanojia and the students successfully conducted and coordinated the programme.
