Defeats A.S. Siali by a Huge Margin of 975 Votes
Amritsar, September 12 (K.L. Jit Walia): Advocate Gurpreet Singh Panesar has registered a resounding victory in the Amritsar Bar Association elections and has been elected President for the second consecutive term. The results, announced after around 1:30 am late Friday night, made it clear that the legal fraternity has once again expressed strong confidence in the leadership of Gurpreet Singh Panesar.
For the post of President, Gurpreet Singh Panesar secured 1,694 votes, while his main rival A.S. Siali received 719 votes and P.S. Walia secured 44 votes. Panesar thus defeated A.S. Siali by a significant margin of 975 votes.
For the post of Secretary, Sanpreet Singh Mann emerged victorious after securing 1,379 votes.
For the post of Vice President, Amritpal Singh Momi won with 915 votes, while Rajdeep Singh Ghuman and Puneet Sharma could not secure victory.
For the post of Women Vice President, D.K. Bedi secured 1,379 votes and defeated Prakashdeep Kaur.
For the post of Joint Secretary, Saurabh Sharma won with 1,181 votes, while Kapil Sharma was elected Cashier after securing 1,415 votes.
For the post of Librarian, Sunaina Soni registered an impressive victory with 1,773 votes, defeating her opponent Narinder Kaur by a substantial margin.
For the posts of Senior Executive Members, Avtar Singh secured 1,111 votes and Gagan Bhatia received 652 votes. In the women’s category, Geetanjali secured 714 votes, while Harpreet Kaur received 622 votes.
Among the Executive Members, Amit Arora secured 242 votes, Sukhchain Singh 315, Nitish Jain 238, Akash Gaind 191, Abhinav Mittal 170, Manpreet Singh 167, Palak Arora 681 and Sukhmandeep Kaur received 528 votes.
The re-election of Gurpreet Singh Panesar as President for a second consecutive term created a wave of enthusiasm among his supporters and members of the legal fraternity. Following the declaration of the results, congratulations continued to pour in for Panesar from supporters and fellow advocates until late at night.
