Amritsar, March 5 (K.L. Jit Walia) – Hardeep Singh Gill, Vice Chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, paid obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib today to express gratitude after assuming his new office. On this occasion, he offered prayers and thanked the Almighty for the new responsibility while praying for the welfare of all sections of society.
Afterward, he also paid obeisance at Sri Valmiki Teerth (Sri Ram Tirath), Sri Durgiana Temple, and Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Temple.
During the visit, officials of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) honored Hardeep Singh Gill at the Information Center of Sri Darbar Sahib by presenting him with a model of the shrine.
Speaking to journalists, Hardeep Singh Gill said that he would fulfill his new responsibility with complete honesty and dedication. He stated that the commission will ensure that the rights of sanitation workers are fully protected and that they receive all their legal entitlements according to the rules.
He further said that if any sanitation worker faces an accident while performing cleaning duties, the commission will ensure that the victim receives proper compensation without delay. The commission will also listen to the problems of sanitation workers and work with the concerned departments to resolve them. He added that if any worker faces difficulties, they can directly approach the commission for assistance.
On this occasion, BJP leader Gurpratap Singh Tikka, former Senior Deputy Mayor Ajepal Bir Singh Randhawa, BJP District President Amarpal Singh Boni Ajnala, Mandeep Singh Manna, Rajbir Sharma, and other dignitaries were also present.
