Strict action must be ensured against drug traffickers – MLA Jeevanjot Kaur
Amritsar, February 11 (K. L. Jit Walia):MLA from East constituency Mrs. Jeevanjot Kaur held a review meeting today at the Press Club with police and administrative officials regarding the Aam Aadmi Party government’s ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign. All Station House Officers of the area, ACPs, and SP City Harpal Singh along with other administrative officers were present on the occasion.
MLA Jeevanjot Kaur directed the police officials to take all necessary steps to eradicate drug abuse and to ensure strict action against drug traffickers. She also emphasized that individuals struggling with addiction should be helped and guided to de-addiction centers so that they can return to the mainstream of society.
She stated that drug abuse has destroyed thousands of families and that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is firmly committed to eliminating this menace from its roots and protecting society. Jeevanjot Kaur made it clear that the Mann government will not rest until drugs are completely eradicated from Punjab.
On this occasion Media Incharge Yashpal Sharma said that the general public, the government, and the police administration must work together in unity to eliminate this social evil from its roots. The meeting was attended by councillors from all wards, ward incharges, and coordinators of various wings.

Among those present were District Amritsar President of Nasha Mukti Morcha Dikshit Dhawan, senior leader Kapil Chadha, prominent social worker Advocate Harpal Singh Nijjar, constituency coordinator Sahib Singh, Bhupinder Singh Rahi, Navjit Kaur, and others.
