Amritsar, July 25 (K.L. Jit Walia): Prominent social worker and political leader Inderpal Singh Raja described the resignation of the Union Education Minister as a major victory for the country’s youth, democracy, and people’s collective voice. Speaking to reporters, he said the resignation was the outcome of the determination and sustained struggle of thousands of young people who peacefully protested at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and other parts of the country, demanding transparency and fairness in the education system.
Inderpal Singh Raja said that today’s youth are far more aware of their rights and are willing to raise their voices democratically against injustice and flawed policies. He stated that students fought a long battle to safeguard their future, and the outcome of that struggle is now visible before the entire nation.
He alleged that students protesting in Delhi were subjected to strict action, including a police baton charge, but despite this, they did not lose courage. According to him, the youth continued their movement peacefully in pursuit of truth and justice, making it impossible to ignore their voices.
Raja said the development proves that in a democracy, the voice of the people remains the greatest strength. When young citizens unite to protect their rights, even major decisions can be influenced. He added that this victory belongs not to any individual or organization but to every student and young person who demanded reforms and transparency in the education system.
He urged the Central Government to seriously consider the legitimate concerns of young people and take effective steps to make the education system more transparent, accountable, and reliable so that similar situations do not arise in the future. He also emphasized that the government should choose dialogue over confrontation, as the future of the country rests in the hands of its youth.
Concluding his remarks, Inderpal Singh Raja said the youth’s success would inspire future generations and reinforce the belief that peaceful democratic struggles never go in vain. He added that the unity and awareness of India’s youth are the greatest strengths of a strong and accountable democracy.
