Amritsar, July 20 (K.L. Jit Walia):MLA from Amritsar East, Mrs. Jeevanjot Kaur, inaugurated the construction of a modern sports infrastructure at the 7-acre park in Ward No. 35 (New Amritsar). She said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to encourage youth participation in sports and provide modern public amenities.
Jeevanjot Kaur stated that the park is being developed according to Punjab-level sports infrastructure standards. The project includes the construction of a synthetic jogging track, an acrylic-layer badminton court, basketball court, volleyball court, skating track, and cricket pitches. She added that the project would inspire children, youth, and people of all age groups to adopt a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in sports.
She said that the Punjab Government’s objective is to provide high-quality infrastructure and public facilities in every ward and locality, ensuring balanced and planned urban development.
During the visit, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur also interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns and demands, and directed the concerned officials to take prompt action to resolve the issues raised by the public.
She assured the residents that transforming Ward No. 35 and providing all essential civic amenities on time remains her top priority. She emphasized that there would be no compromise on development works and that every project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe according to public expectations.
