Amritsar, February 24 (K.L. Jit Walia): Renowned Punjabi folk singer Sunanda Sharma said that she has a deep affection for the soil of Punjab and its rich culture, and whenever she gets an opportunity to visit Amritsar, she considers herself fortunate. She had specially arrived in Amritsar to attend the wedding ceremony of Harman Singh, son of Sardar Harbhajan Singh Sidhu, a family member of Bal Malkit Singh, Convenor of the Maharashtra Sikh Association and Chairman of the Maharashtra State Punjab Sahitya Academy, Government of Maharashtra.
While interacting on the occasion, Sunanda Sharma congratulated the newlywed couple and said that marriage is not only a union of two individuals but a sacred bond between two families. She added that preserving the traditions and customs of Punjab is a collective responsibility of all, and such family events keep us connected to our roots and culture.
She said that the fragrance of Punjabi music and folk culture is spreading across the world today, and Punjabi youth are achieving new heights through their talent. She noted that she has always been a representative and promoter of Punjabi culture and will continue to strengthen Punjab’s identity through her songs.
During the wedding ceremony, distinguished guests present blessed and extended their best wishes to the newly married couple. The atmosphere of the event was filled with joy and enthusiasm, and a large number of relatives, friends, and prominent personalities from the area marked their presence.
