Amritsar April 14 – An important meeting of the Retired Patwaris Kanungos and Naib Tehsildars Welfare Association District Amritsar Tarn Taran Punjab was held at Heritage Club Gandhi Ground under the अध्यक्षship of Lakhwinder Singh Kohali.
On this occasion President of Punjab Welfare Association Nirmaljit Singh Bajwa attended as chief guest. Along with him Harpal Singh Samra Vice President of Punjab Patwar Union and tehsil level office bearers from Amritsar 1 and 2 were also present.
During the meeting several speakers and former office bearers shared their views including Harjit Singh Saidolehal Kulwant Singh Dehriwal Harminder Singh Jasbir Singh Ball Ashok Kumar Major Singh Bhoma Ramesh Pal Harbhajan Singh Advocate Jatinder Kumar Joginder Singh Vipin Kumar Tarsem Singh and Karanjit Singh. Around 40 to 50 members attended the meeting.
Members raised several demands such as immediate payment of DA arrears clearance of medical bills leave encashment and settlement of other pending allowances. The association also welcomed the High Court decision related to human rights and expressed gratitude.
Speakers demanded that retired revenue employees should be given proper respect as senior citizens in government offices especially in tehsil and patwari offices.
Harpal Singh Samra assured that retired employees will be given due respect while Nirmaljit Singh Bajwa stated that these issues will be raised at the Punjab level meetings for resolution.
In conclusion the association urged the government to resolve the issues of retired employees at the earliest.
