Goindwal Sahib, March 17 (Iqbal Singh Ahluwalia) – Under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Tejbir Singh Bhangu and the leadership of Agriculture Officer Khadoor Sahib Dr. Bhupinder Singh, a farmer training camp was organized in village Khojkipur of block Khadoor Sahib under the Seed Village Program.
During the camp, Agriculture Sub Inspector Simranjit Singh provided technical information related to wheat cultivation. He advised farmers to use fertilizers, pesticides, and seeds strictly according to the recommendations of PAU to ensure better crop yield.
Farmers were also made aware of pest attacks and diseases affecting wheat crops. Information about the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme was shared, emphasizing that farmer registration is mandatory to continue receiving financial assistance under the scheme.
Agriculture Sub Inspector Satnam Singh informed farmers about various schemes being run by the department. He highlighted that gypsum is available to farmers at a 50 percent subsidy. Additionally, information about the improved variety of moong SML-1827 was shared, and farmers were encouraged to actively engage with the agriculture department to avail maximum benefits of government schemes.
On this occasion, Sarpanch Manohar Singh Dhillon, members Pal Singh Shah, Pritpal Singh, Gurvel Singh, Gurbhej Singh, Dasaunda Singh, Surinder Singh, Gurdayal Singh, and several progressive farmers were present.
