Amritsar, March 5 (K.L. Jit Walia) – On the call of the State Committee of the Ministerial Services Union, the district unit of Amritsar organized a protest demonstration against the Punjab Government. The protest was held under the leadership of District General Secretary Jagdish Thakur, District Chief Spokesperson Tejinder Singh Dhillon, District Finance Secretary Gurmukh Singh Chahal, Senior Vice President Aman Thariyewal, and Media Incharge Atul Sharma.
During the meeting, preparations were made to participate in the action program to be organized by the state committee in Chandigarh on March 8, 2026. On this occasion, employees expressed their protest by burning copies of the incomplete notification related to the Old Pension Scheme and the notification dated 17/07/2020.
Union leaders demanded that the pending installments of Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees be released immediately and that the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) be restored. They also demanded the cancellation of the letter dated 17/07/2020 issued for employees recruited under the 7th Central Pay Commission, restoration of the 4-9-14 ACP scheme, and exemption from the typing test for clerks appointed on compassionate grounds by implementing a computer course instead.
In addition, they demanded that errors in the Pay Commission be corrected and that the allowances which had been discontinued be restored.
On this occasion, employees and representatives from various departments including Malkit Singh, Tejinder Kumar, Bikramjit Singh Kaler, Surinder Singh, Jimmy Badhwar, Sanjay Sharma, Lakhwinder Singh, Heera Bhullar, Baljit Singh Bali, Rajan, Preeti, Gurvel Singh Sekhon, Rakesh Babowal, Kamaljit Singh, Jasbir Singh, Parvinder Singh, Gurinder Singh, and President of the fraternal organization Joginder Singh, along with many other employees and officials from different departments, were present.
