Amritsar, January 29 (K. L. Jit Walia):- A thanksgiving meeting was organized by Rajinder Singh Marwaha at a prestigious city hotel following his nomination as a core committee member of the Shiromani Akali Dal’s Industry and Trade Wing, representing traders, business communities, and industrialists from Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Batala, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot. Former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Virsa Singh Valtoha attended the event as the chief guest.
The meeting was attended by several prominent traders, industrialists, and hotel owners, including Sunny Dara, Sukhwinder Singh Kohli, Harpal Singh Ahluwalia, Amarjit Singh Narang, Hardayal Singh Bajwa, Dr. Jagjit Singh, Advocate Teg Brothers, Jatinder Pal Singh Bobby Badshah, Harpreet Singh Bedi, Harpreet Singh Bhatia, Vikram Bagga, Harvinder Singh Dhanjal, Sehmi Ji of Sehmi Hotel, Jaswinder Kaur Sohal, Hardesh Davesar, among many others.
Thanking Virsa Singh Valtoha, Rajinder Singh Marwaha assured that he would discharge the responsibility entrusted to him by the party high command with full dedication and honesty. He said that district-level organizations of traders and industrialists would soon be formed in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Batala, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot.
Marwaha stated that during the Shiromani Akali Dal–BJP alliance government from 2007 to 2017, Punjab witnessed historic development. Construction of four-lane and six-lane roads, establishment of focal points, service centers, power stations, and making the state power-surplus were major achievements of that period. He added that projects such as Heritage Street in Amritsar, beautification of Durgiana Mandir and Valmiki Teerth, Qila Gobindgarh, Partition Museum, Army War Memorial, Metro Bus Service, Urban Haat, Taranwala Bridge, and several flyovers were also contributions of the same government.
Addressing the gathering, Virsa Singh Valtoha said that for the overall development of Punjab, it is essential to ensure the victory of the Shiromani Akali Dal under the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal in the 2027 vidhansabha elections.
