Advocate Dhami Shares Information About SGPC’s Ongoing Initiatives with the Sikh Sangat
Amritsar, June 17 (K.L. Jit Walia): A high-level delegation of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), led by its President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, visited the United States and paid obeisance at various Gurdwaras while interacting with the Sikh community.
The delegation visited several religious institutions, including the Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Ji Samparda Center in Lathrop, California, Gurdwara Gurmat Prakash in Manteca, managed by the Damdami Taksal, and Gurdwara Guru Nanak Prakash in Fresno, among other places. The management committees at these Gurdwaras honored Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and other members of the delegation, including Senior Vice President S. Raghujit Singh Virk, Chief Secretary S. Kulwant Singh Mannan, Member Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, OSD S. Satbir Singh, and Secretary S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan.
A large number of Sikh community members, local leaders, and Gurdwara management representatives warmly welcomed the SGPC delegation.
Addressing the congregation at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Prakash, Fresno, Advocate Dhami said that Sikhs living abroad have established the distinct identity of Sikhism across the world through their hard work, dedication, and deep connection with Guru Sahib. He stated that the SGPC is continuously working for the propagation of Sikhism, promotion of Gurmat principles, and connecting Sikh youth with their heritage and values.
He further highlighted the important role played by the Damdami Taksal in the promotion of Sikh teachings and appreciated its consistent support for SGPC’s Panthic initiatives.
During his address at the Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Samparda Center in Lathrop, Advocate Dhami praised the services being carried out under the leadership of Baba Avtar Singh Sursingh Wale. He acknowledged the continuous support provided by the Samparda in matters concerning the Sikh Panth and expressed hope for continued cooperation in the future.
Advocate Dhami also appealed to local Sikh organizations and the Sikh community to extend their support for the printing press and religious preaching center being established by the SGPC on land donated by the late S. Didar Singh Bains in Yuba City, California.
On this occasion, local Sikh leaders appreciated the SGPC’s contributions in the religious, educational, and Panthic spheres and assured their full support for the institution’s future endeavors.
Among those present were Baba Joginder Singh, Baba Dharam Singh, Baba Sahib Singh, Bhai Sarwan Singh Nihang, Bhai Harpal Singh, and a large gathering of Sikh devotees.
