Amritsar, February 2 (K. L. Jit Walia):Welcoming the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court granting bail to senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Cabinet Minister Sardar Bikram Singh Majithia, his political advisor Gagandeep Singh Bhakna termed it a victory of justice and the Constitution. Bhakna said that this verdict has not only delivered justice to Majithia but has also further strengthened the common people’s faith in the country’s impartial judiciary.
In his statement, Gagandeep Singh Bhakna said that the Indian judiciary has always been a strong pillar of democracy, and every section of society looks towards the courts with the hope of fair justice. He added that the Supreme Court’s well-considered decision in this matter reinforces the rule of law and constitutional values.
Bhakna stated that Sardar Bikram Singh Majithia is an experienced and popular leader who has always prioritised public welfare and development in Punjab’s politics. He alleged that the action taken against Majithia was entirely politically motivated and an attempt by opposition parties to malign his image. However, he said that no matter how much the truth is suppressed, it ultimately comes out through the process of justice.
He further remarked that the Supreme Court’s verdict has made it clear that no one is above the law and that injustice cannot prevail for long. The decision also serves as a message to those who misuse government agencies for political gains.
Gagandeep Singh Bhakna said that the Shiromani Akali Dal has always believed in justice, democracy, and the Constitution. Even during difficult times, the party leadership and workers maintained patience and restraint while placing complete faith in the judiciary, the result of which is now evident.
He also said that in the coming days, Sardar Bikram Singh Majithia will dedicate himself with full energy to serving the people of Punjab and will strongly raise issues concerning the state. Bhakna appealed to party workers to celebrate this decision as a victory of justice while strictly adhering to democratic norms.
