Amritsar, February 3 (K. L. Jit Walia):Keeping in mind the convenience of the Sangat, the construction of a new Langar building was formally inaugurated after Ardas at the historic Gurdwara Palah Sahib, located on Airport Road. This sacred place is sanctified by the holy touch of the Sixth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. On this occasion, a religious congregation was organised, in which a large number of devotees participated.
Sharing details, Baba Sukhwinder Singh Bhuriwalia said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has initiated large-scale development and expansion works at Gurdwara Palah Sahib. The responsibility for carrying out these services has been entrusted to Sant Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwalia.
He informed that earlier, with the cooperation of the Sangat and the Shiromani Committee, construction work of 13 rooms for Sri Akhand Path Sahib, a Sukhasan site, and washrooms is already in progress. Now, the construction of the new Langar building has begun, which will prove to be a significant milestone for the future management of the Gurdwara Sahib.
Baba Sukhwinder Singh further explained that the new Langar building will include facilities for preparing Langar, cleaning utensils, a large storage area for Langar materials, and an office for management staff. In addition, a modern Langar Hall will be constructed, where approximately 1,100 devotees will be able to sit together in pangat and partake in Langar.
He added that the Langar Hall will be equipped with modern technology, including a proper ventilation system, natural lighting, pollution control equipment, and comprehensive safety arrangements.
On this occasion, prominent social worker Ranjit Singh Goldy Gumtala, Block Pradhan Laddi Sahota, Manager Bikramjit Singh, Sukhjinder Singh (XEN), Satbir Singh (JE), Balwinder Singh (Chairman), Master Pradeep Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Surjan Singh, Bapu Jagir Singh, along with many saints, Gurdwara management members, and devotees from the area were present.
