Jandiala Guru, July 23 (Bhullar Devidaspuria): Acting on the call of the Revenue Patwar Union (Regd.), Punjab, Patwaris across all tehsils of Amritsar district have announced a mass leave on July 24, 2026, in support of their long-pending demands.

As part of the protest, union representatives submitted memorandums to their respective Tehsildars informing them about the collective leave. In Amritsar-I, President Saurav Sharma, Prabhjot Kaur, Karanvir Singh, Gaganjeet Singh, Harpal Singh Samra, General Secretary Harpreet Singh, Mahesh Kumar, Rajeev Kumar and Yuvraj Singh Mattu submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Jagseer Singh. In Amritsar-II, President Jobanjeet Singh, General Secretary Maninder Singh and Treasurer Sanjeev Kumar also handed over a memorandum. Similar memorandums were submitted in Ajnala by President Gurbaz Singh and General Secretary Jaswinder Singh; in Majitha by Senior Vice-President Karan Khosla, Treasurer Jaswinder Singh Bedi, Manbir Singh Malli and Gurmeet Singh; in Sri Baba Bakala Sahib by President Angrez Singh, General Secretary Gurdev Singh Butter, Treasurer Mehrban Singh, Harpreet Singh, Jagjit Singh and Kirandeep Kaur; and in Lopoke by President Karanjit Singh Patti along with Deepak Masih, Rachhpal Singh and Gurnam Singh. Union leaders said the decision to go on mass leave has been taken to press for the resolution of their legitimate long-pending demands and urged the Punjab Government to resolve these issues at the earliest, warning that the agitation could be intensified if no concrete action is taken.
