Central Assembly constituency MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta and Amritsar Police Commissioner (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar met the newly elected office-bearers of the Majitha Mandi Traders Association. On the occasion, they congratulated the Association’s newly elected President Anil Mehra and his team.
Dr. Ajay Gupta said that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab is addressing traders’ issues on a priority basis. He stated that whenever the office-bearers of the Majitha Mandi Traders Association bring any issue to his notice, efforts are made to resolve it promptly. Referring to the Association’s request for increased police presence in the market, he said the number of PCR patrol vehicles in the area had already been increased.
He further said that all possible facilities are being provided to traders in Amritsar’s Walled City. According to him, development works requested by the Traders Association are initiated without delay. He added that any demand placed before AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding traders receives prompt approval. He also claimed that the government has ended the “Inspector Raj” that traders previously faced.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that cooperation between the police and the public is essential for maintaining a safe society. He described Majitha Mandi as one of the oldest and largest trading hubs in the city and said that its security and traffic arrangements are reviewed regularly. He added that he was pleased to visit the market along with MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta and interact with the traders.
During the event, Majitha Mandi Traders Association President Anil Mehra and his team honored Dr. Ajay Gupta and Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
