Amritsar, April 26 (K.L. Jit Walia):A massive protest was staged by workers of the Aam Aadmi Party at Putlighar Chowk against the Bharatiya Janata Party under the leadership of Amritsar West MLA Dr. Jasbir Singh Sidhu. A large number of party workers and supporters gathered to participate in the demonstration.
While addressing the media, Dr. Jasbir Sidhu alleged that the BJP is engaging in political maneuvering in Punjab to weaken the AAP government. He stated that the recent joining of seven Rajya Sabha members of AAP into the BJP is a clear example of this, calling it a direct insult to democracy and the mandate given by the people of Punjab.
Dr. Sidhu asserted that the people of Punjab understand the truth well and that the BJP’s alleged conspiracies will not succeed. He said that leaders who switch sides would not be accepted by the जनता (public), and they would face a democratic response at the appropriate time.
He further added that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has also clarified that since the introduction of strict anti-sacrilege laws by the Punjab government, attempts to politically destabilize the government have intensified.
Dr. Sidhu accused the BJP of trying to buy and intimidate leaders but emphasized that the self-respecting people of Punjab would never allow such efforts to succeed. He reiterated that, as stated by CM Bhagwant Mann, leaders who act against public interest have been sidelined in the past, and the people will once again give a strong response at the right time.
Several senior leaders and party members, including Dilbagh Singh Wadali, Advocate Raman Kumar, Jaspal Singh Putlighar, Harjinder Singh Bath, Deepak Khanna, Vikas Chhotu, Madhav Sharma, Amarjeet Singh, Councillor Amarjeet Singh Shergill, Councillor Sandeep Singh, Councillor Vijay Bhagat, Davinder Singh Sandhu, Dimple Arora, Surjit Singh Malli, Gurjinder Singh Raja, Jagjit Singh Atalgadh, Sunita Sharma, Manpreet Kaur, Kavaljeet Kaur, Tilak Raj, Sunny Wadali, Janak Raj, Amarjeet Singh Walia, Varun Rana, Vikram Bawa, Madam Pooja, Akvinder Kaur, Rajvinder Kaur, Anu Salwan, Kuljeet Kaur, Paramjeet Kaur, Sunita, Kuljeet Kaur, Amardeep, and Amritpal Singh were also present in large numbers.
