Amritsar, January 27 (K.L. Jit Walia): Suraj Singh Thakur, Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and Co-Incharge of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, held a closed-door meeting with MLAs, constituency in-charges, and block presidents from 11 assembly segments of Amritsar district, covering both rural and urban areas. After the meeting, he also interacted individually with leaders to gather constituency-wise updates on the political situation and organizational activities.
During the meeting, Congress in-charge of Majitha constituency Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachar welcomed Suraj Thakur on behalf of all attendees, while Member of Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla introduced the leaders present. In his address, Suraj Singh Thakur gave indications regarding the Congress party’s strategy keeping the 2027 विधानसभा elections in mind and emphasized maintaining strict discipline within the party under all circumstances.
Media personnel were asked to remain outside during the meeting, due to which detailed information could not emerge. However, according to sources, senior Congress leadership also held meetings in different phases at a local hotel to brief Suraj Thakur on the current political situation in Punjab.

Those present at the meeting included MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla, District Rural Congress President Sukhwinder Singh Denny, Urban Congress President Mithu Madan, Harpratap Singh Ajnala, Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachar, Dr. Raj Kumar, Sunil Datti, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Anil Joshi, Mamta Dutta, Tarsem Singh D.C., Santosh Singh Bhalaipur, Jasbir Singh Dimpa, Dilraj Singh Sarkaria, along with several other leaders.
