Brampton, July 27: Under the leadership of founder Raminder Rammi, the International Literary Association organized the 55th edition of its renowned series “Sirjana De Aar-Paar,” featuring an inspiring interaction with Prof. (Dr.) Karamjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University. The event was skillfully moderated by Prof. Kuljit Kaur.
During the session, Dr. Karamjit Singh shared his remarkable journey from childhood to becoming Vice-Chancellor, highlighting the role of perseverance, hard work, family values, and faith in Gurbani in shaping his life. He said that the encouragement of his teachers and continuous dedication helped him overcome a lack of self-confidence during his student years.
He emphasized that a successful administrator must patiently listen to everyone, make impartial decisions, and continue learning throughout life. He also stated that the principles of Sikhism guide his life and that his writings aim to inspire humanity in a positive direction.
Speaking about the future of the Punjabi language, Dr. Karamjit Singh said that special Punjabi courses are being developed for third-generation Punjabis living abroad. He added that the university is also working to make science and other academic subjects available in Punjabi. Expressing confidence, he said the future of the Punjabi language is bright.
On the occasion, Dr. Baljit Kaur Riar, Dr. Manjinder Singh, Dr. Navjot (OSD), S. Ajab Singh Chattha, and other speakers praised Dr. Karamjit Singh’s visionary leadership, academic excellence, and significant contributions to Punjabi language and education.
The July edition of the organization’s e-magazine was also released during the event. Concluding the program, Chairman S. Pyara Singh Kuddowal described Dr. Karamjit Singh’s life journey as a source of inspiration for young people, demonstrating that determination and hard work can transform every challenge into an opportunity.
Founder Raminder Rammi thanked Dr. Karamjit Singh, Prof. Kuljit Kaur, and literature enthusiasts from across the world who joined through Facebook and Zoom. He said that the “Sirjana De Aar-Paar” series has become an important platform connecting the global Punjabi literary community.
