“Connecting students with literature is the need of the hour,” says Principal Inderjit Singh
Khanna, July 29 (J.S. Khanna):
Four students of the renowned A.S. Senior Secondary School, Khanna were honoured after their literary works were selected for publication in the book “Naviyan Kalaman Navi Udaan – Part 82”, published by Punjab Bhavan Surrey (Canada).
The book was published under the patronage of Sukhi Bath, founder of Punjab Bhavan Surrey, and edited by Gurpreet Singh Bir Kishan.
The published works include:
- Kashish Sharma – Essay: “My School”
- Akashdeep – Article: “Respect for Parents”
- Sonu – Article: “The Importance of Manual Work”
- Ishmeet Kaur – Poem: “My Mother”
During a simple yet impressive ceremony organized by the school, the student authors and their guide teacher Mohit Kumar were honoured with medals, certificates, and copies of the book sent by Punjab Bhavan Surrey (Canada).
Addressing the gathering of teachers and students, Principal Inderjit Singh said that encouraging students to engage with literature is the need of the hour. He emphasized that literary activities help develop creativity, critical thinking, and strong moral values among young learners.
School Governing Body member and educationist Lok Nath Sharma said that books are a person’s true friends. By drawing inspiration from literature, students can become not only better writers but also better human beings.
Guide teacher Mohit Kumar appreciated the hard work and dedication of the school staff and encouraged students to continue writing and expressing their ideas through literature.
The ceremony was attended by Vice Principal Jatinder Kumar, DPE Surinder Walia, Bhupinder Singh, Gurbachan Singh, along with a large number of teachers and students.
