Amritsar (K.L. Jit Walia): As part of the environmental conservation campaign being carried out under the directions of Municipal Corporation Amritsar Commissioner Shri Bikramjit Singh Shergill, World Environment Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm today at Beri Gate Park in the Cantonment area by the Municipal Corporation Amritsar.
The event was attended by Municipal Corporation Secretary Shri Sushant Bhatia (In-charge, Environment Day) along with the entire Horticulture Wing staff.
On this occasion, various types of saplings were planted to promote a pollution-free environment and spread awareness about environmental conservation among the public. The initiative aimed to encourage citizens to actively participate in protecting and preserving nature.
Addressing the gathering, Municipal Corporation officials urged people to plant more trees and take responsibility for their care and maintenance. They emphasized that increasing green cover is essential for ensuring a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment for future generations.
The celebration highlighted the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding the environment and reaffirmed the commitment of the Municipal Corporation towards promoting ecological balance and green initiatives across the city.
