Amritsar, April 15 (K.L. Jit Walia) – On the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, a grand literary gathering of poets was organized at Amira Farm, Airport Road, Amritsar, under the joint aegis of Vishva Virasati Academy, Vishva Punjabi Sabha Canada, and International Cultural Forum. The ‘National Trilingual Mushaira’ (Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu) was successfully and memorably conducted, witnessing participation from more than 100 poets from various states of India.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Paramjeet Singh Kalsi (National Awardee), Chairman of Vishva Virasati Academy, Satbir Singh, President of Vishva Punjabi Sabha Canada (India Unit), and Balwinder Kaur Pandori, National President of the International Cultural Forum.
Chief guests included Dr. Amandeep Singh, Director of Youth Services Department, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and renowned Punjabi poet Dr. Ravinder. Special guests present on the occasion included Dr. Kulbir Singh Suri, social worker Satbir Singh, Ghazalgo Manager Atar Singh, literary critic Dr. Sarwan Singh, storyteller Devinder Deedar, film actor Arvinder Bhatti, District Education Officer and poet Harpal Singh Sandhawalia (State Awardee), social worker Rajinder Sharma, and Mahikpreet Singh (General Secretary, International Cultural Forum), among many others.
The session was presided over by Dr. Paramjeet Singh Kalsi, who outlined the program and formally inaugurated the event, while Satbir Singh welcomed all dignitaries and participating poets.
During the event, the poetry book “Geet Di Maut” by Gurjapal Singh and the magazine “Soohi Saver” by Dr. Gurcharan Gandhi were officially released.
On this occasion, renowned poet Devinder Saifi was honored with the ‘Punjabi Kavita Ratna Award’, Dr. Anchal Arora received the ‘Ratan-e-Punjab (Virasati) Award’, and critic Dr. Gurvant Singh was conferred the ‘Punjabi Alochna Ratna Award’ for their significant contributions to literature.
Poets from across India and abroad captivated the audience with their poetic expressions. Participants included Kamaljit Singh Kamal, Avtar Singh Sidhu, Dr. Gurcharan Gandhi, Jasbir Singh Jhabal, Dr. Sarwan Singh, Karnail Singh Aspal (Haryana), Dr. Rubi Ara (Jammu & Kashmir), Ram Singh (Himachal), Dr. Gurkirpal Singh Kahlon, Duggal Gulati (Delhi), Harpal Singh Sandhawalia, Dukhbhanjan (Portugal), Harjeet Kaur Bammrah (Canada), Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Raman Deep Singh Deep, Dr. Sally Baljeet, Ashok Hastir (Urdu poet), Rajbir Kaur Grewal, Harpreet Kaur Meet, and hundreds of others.
At the conclusion, organizers honored the chief guests, special guests, presiding panel, and participating poets with mementos, shawls, and appreciation certificates, encouraging them to continue promoting literary and cultural activities in the future.
