Amritsar, July 24 (K.L. Jit Walia): The Young Malang Theatre Welfare Society, in collaboration with AASAR, Clean Air Punjab, AirCare Centre, Sanjh Punjab, Khalsa University, and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, will stage the Punjabi social play “Tapash (Heat Wave)” on July 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the auditorium of Khalsa University, G.T. Road, Amritsar.
The play has been written by Davinder Gill, conceptualized by Sanam Sutirth Wazir, and directed by renowned theatre personality Sajan Kapoor, with Haroon Arora serving as the Assistant Director.
According to the organisers, the production has been developed to highlight pressing issues such as rising temperatures, climate change, and environmental challenges. Through a blend of satire, humour, and emotional storytelling, the play aims not only to entertain audiences but also to raise awareness about environmental conservation and social responsibility.
Director Sajan Kapoor and the entire Young Malang Theatre Welfare Society team have invited city residents, theatre enthusiasts, students, and families to attend the special performance. They said that the audience’s participation will encourage the artists and strengthen the campaign to spread awareness about environmental protection.
