Punjab will become a progressive state again
Amritsar February 19: President of Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal assured traders and businesspersons during his first meeting with them in Amritsar that facilities for the trading community would be restored once the party forms the government and Punjab would be made a progressive state again.
The meeting was held at the residence of city president Surjit Singh Bhalwan under the leadership of core committee member Rajinder Singh Marwaha. Prominent traders including Upkar Singh of Prabhat Autos Sunny Dara a hotelier and industrialist Harpal Singh Ahluwalia highlighted issues such as law and order problems extortion by gangsters and administrative shortcomings causing difficulties for businesses.
Badal said that in 2027 traders industrialists farmers and workers together would bring the party back to power. He added that after forming the government the inspector raj would be abolished a one time tax system would be introduced and a single window system would be implemented to put the state back on the path of development. Restoring peace and law and order in Punjab would be the top priority of his government.
During the meeting Harpreet Singh Bhatia and architect Jajbir Singh raised concerns related to GST refunds and Badal assured that these issues would be resolved once the government is formed. Advocate Jatinderpal Singh Dr Amarjit Singh Sachdeva Jagjit Singh Jagga Arun Singh Avtar Singh from Canada Vicky Raja Sansi and Blanket Association president Vipin Mahira along with several traders and industrialists were present.
At the end Marwaha and Harpal Singh Ahluwalia honored Badal with a shawl and bouquet and thanked him for assuring solutions to traders’ problems.
