Amritsar, 18 February :- A traders camp and a district level meeting were organized in Amritsar through the Punjab Trade Commission to address and resolve the problems of the business community on the spot. This initiative is part of the Punjab government’s efforts under the leadership of Bhagwant Mann to empower traders and simplify business processes for small shopkeepers and entrepreneurs.
The meeting was conducted under the supervision of Commission member Sheetal Juneja along with local officials and saw participation from various trade associations who presented their concerns. Several issues were resolved immediately during the session.
Sheetal Juneja stated that the primary objective of the commission is to ensure that traders do not have to repeatedly visit government offices for routine permissions and departmental clearances. The commission aims to provide timely and transparent solutions through a dedicated platform.
MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal emphasized that small businesses are the backbone of the state economy and assured that the government is committed to creating a business friendly environment where honest traders can focus on growth instead of paperwork delays. MLAs Dr Ajay Gupta and Dr Jasbir Singh Sandhu also highlighted the crucial role of traders in strengthening not only the state but the national economy.
Officials including the Mayor and representatives from various departments stressed better coordination and regular dialogue with traders. Presentations were given on digital reforms aimed at making processes more transparent and reducing delays.
Representatives raised issues related to license renewals tax complications municipal matters pollution board formalities and labor procedures. Authorities assured quick and satisfactory resolution.
Officials from the district administration and members of Aam Aadmi Party attended the meeting along with numerous trade leaders. Overall the initiative is being seen as a positive step toward building trust between the government and the business community in Amritsar and across Punjab.
