Jit Walia):Renowned and senior Indian cinema actor Raza Murad today witnessed the famous daily Retreat Ceremony (Beating the Retreat) held between the border security forces of India and Pakistan at the Attari border, and thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle. His presence added further enthusiasm and charm to the event.
As soon as Raza Murad arrived at the Attari border, officers of the Border Security Force (BSF) and tourists from various states of the country welcomed him warmly with loud applause and raised hands. There was visible excitement among the visitors, many of whom were eager to see and meet the veteran actor up close.
Before the start of the Retreat Ceremony, Raza Murad was seen enjoying himself along with tourists, dancing joyfully to Hindi, Punjabi and patriotic songs playing in the premises. During this time, a large number of young men and women greeted him, shook hands with him, and captured memorable moments by taking selfies with the actor.
While interacting with the media, Raza Murad said that he considers himself extremely fortunate that even at this age, whenever he visits Punjab—especially the sacred land of Amritsar—he makes it a point to come to the Attari border to boost the morale of Indian soldiers. He said that the daily Retreat Ceremony at the Attari border is a symbol of patriotism, discipline and the indomitable courage of India’s brave soldiers, and witnessing it fills every Indian with pride.
