Amritsar, January 30 (K.L. Jit Walia):With the objective of making Punjab a drug-free state, Punjab Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched the second phase of the “War Against Drugs” campaign. As part of this initiative, de-addiction awareness marches are being organized across the state to sensitize the public.
In this series, a de-addiction awareness rally was organized at Lohgarh Chowk in the Central Assembly constituency. The rally was led by Madam Sonia Mann, Majha Zone In-charge of the De-Addiction Front, along with Dixit Dhawan, District In-charge of the De-Addiction Front, Amritsar Urban. On this occasion, a large foot march was taken out.
Addressing the gathering, Madam Sonia Mann said that gangsters would be completely eliminated from the state and Punjab would once again be transformed into a “Rangla Punjab.” She emphasized that the state government is working with a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and corruption, and no criminal will be spared.
During the rally, Madam Mann went door-to-door and shop-to-shop to mobilize people against drug abuse and appealed to them to actively support the Punjab government’s efforts so that the drug problem can be eradicated from its roots. The people present pledged their full support to the Mann government in making the state drug-free.
On this occasion, members of the De-Addiction Front including Jai Kush Buttar, Rajesh Handa, Honey Nahar, Monika Lamba, Manjeet Singh Fauji, Kulwant Singh Wadali, Sahib Singh Gill, Rahul Seth, along with a large number of workers, were present.
