Advocate Gurpreet Panesar Wins the Confidence of the Legal Fraternity by Becoming President for the Second Consecutive Term
Amritsar, September 14 (K.L. Jit Walia): Advocate Gurpreet Panesar, who was elected president of the Amritsar Bar Association for the second consecutive term, formally assumed charge of his office today. Along with him, the newly elected office-bearers and executive committee members of the Bar Association also took charge of their respective positions. On the occasion, members of the legal fraternity warmly welcomed the new team and extended their best wishes for its new tenure.
After assuming office, Advocate Gurpreet Panesar said that the confidence reposed in him by the lawyers for the second consecutive time was a great honour, but at the same time, it also carried a major responsibility. He said he would work with complete honesty, transparency and mutual cooperation to ensure that the problems of the legal fraternity are addressed on priority, facilities at the Bar are improved and the functioning of the Association is made more efficient.
He said the Bar Association is not merely an institution representing lawyers, but is also an important part of the justice delivery system. Therefore, apart from raising the genuine demands and issues of the legal fraternity at the appropriate level, maintaining the dignity and unity of the Bar would remain among his top priorities.
The new team of the Bar Association was also announced on the occasion. Advocate Sanpreet Singh Maan took charge as Secretary, Advocates Amar Pal Singh Momi and D.K. Bedi as Vice Presidents, Advocate Saurav Sharma as Joint Secretary, Advocate Sunaina Soni as Librarian and Advocate Kapil Sharma as Treasurer.
As members of the Executive Committee, Advocates Sukhchain Singh, Amit Arora, Nitish Jain, Akash Gaid, Abhinav Mittal, Manpreet Singh, Madhu Sudan, Palak Arora and Sukhman Dhillon also assumed their respective responsibilities.
Similarly, Advocates Avtar Singh, Gagan Bhatia, Gitanjali and Harpreet Kaur Grover took charge as Senior Executive Committee members.
The new team assured that all members would work with mutual coordination and unity to further strengthen the voice of the legal fraternity and safeguard its interests. They said joint efforts would be made to resolve the issues faced by the Bar Association and provide better facilities to lawyers.
