Amritsar, August 31 ( ): — Under the leadership of Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, MLA from Amritsar South, a free mega medical camp was organized at Shaheed Udham Singh Memorial Bhawan, Gate Bhagtan Wala, Amritsar by Bilas Foundation in collaboration with Tera Hi Tera Mission Hospital, Chandigarh, and Shaheed Udham Singh Foundation, Amritsar, with the objective of providing quality healthcare facilities to the people.
During the medical camp, a large number of patients were examined by specialist doctors. Free medicines were also provided to patients as per their requirements. Various health screening facilities were offered free of cost, including FibroScan, bone mineral density (BMD) testing, blood pressure check-ups, mammography and neuro scan, along with other medical tests.
On the occasion, MLA Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar was specially present. He expressed his gratitude to the office-bearers and members of Bilas Foundation, Tera Hi Tera Mission Hospital, Chandigarh, and Shaheed Udham Singh Foundation, Amritsar, for organizing the welfare-oriented initiative.
Dr. Nijjar said that the primary objective of such medical camps is to create awareness among people about their health and provide needy individuals with free medical check-ups, consultation and treatment. He said such initiatives are highly beneficial for economically weaker and needy sections of society and also help in the timely detection and treatment of diseases.
S. Deep Singh Kamboj, President of the Foundation, said that Shaheed Udham Singh Foundation would continue its public welfare activities and organize similar free health check-up camps in the future so that maximum numbers of needy people can benefit.
On the occasion, President S. Deep Singh Kamboj and members of Shaheed Udham Singh Foundation thanked Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar and the medical team of Bilas Foundation. They also honoured them with mementoes in recognition of their contribution.
Senior South constituency leader Balwinder Singh Billa, along with Shaheed Udham Singh Foundation office-bearers Baljit Singh Rinku, Sher-e-Punjab Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Paramjit Singh, Kanwar Jagdeep Singh, Kuljit Singh, Paramjit Singh Billa, Dhian Singh, Davinder Singh, Harpreet Singh, Jaswinder Singh Rande Wale, Mehnga Singh and Rakesh Kamboj, besides other prominent and respected members of the area, were present.
