Development works worth ₹130.82 crore approved
Amritsar, August 26 (K.L. Jit Walia): A special meeting of the Finance & Contract Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatia. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill was also present during the meeting.
During the meeting, various development projects and works worth ₹130.82 crore were approved for the overall development of the city, strengthening of basic infrastructure and improvement of civic amenities.
Mayor Jatinder Singh Bhatia said that the approved funds would be utilized for the repair and improvement of roads, installation and improvement of street lights, strengthening of sewerage infrastructure and arrangements for clean drinking water in different parts of the city.
He said that no compromise would be made with the quality of development works and directions have been issued to complete all projects within the stipulated time frame.
Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bikramjit Singh Shergill assured that all approved projects would be monitored transparently so that residents can benefit from the development works at the earliest.
Committee members Councillor Jagmeet Singh Ghulli and Sukhbir Kaur, along with senior officials of the Municipal Corporation, were also present at the meeting.
