Amritsar, August 3 (K.L. Jit Walia):MLA Dr. Jeevanjot Kaur, representing the Amritsar East Assembly Constituency, celebrated the traditional Punjabi festival of Teej with the daughters and women of her constituency in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. The event showcased the rich heritage of Punjabi culture while promoting joy, unity, and community spirit.
A large number of women participated in the celebrations, enjoying Giddha, traditional folk songs (Boliyan), and various cultural performances. As a gesture of love and respect, Dr. Jeevanjot Kaur also presented gifts to the women attending the event.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jeevanjot Kaur said that Teej is an invaluable part of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. She said the festival strengthens the bonds of love, unity, and togetherness among women. She added that the Punjab Government is continuously working to preserve and promote the state’s cultural heritage and traditions. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is committed to restoring the glory of a vibrant and prosperous Punjab.
She thanked all the women for making the event memorable with their enthusiastic participation and said that such cultural celebrations are an effective way to connect future generations with Punjab’s rich heritage. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the people of the constituency for their love and support.
