Appeals to Every Citizen to Plant and Nurture at Least One Tree

Prominent social worker and political leader Inderpal Singh Raja launched an environmental conservation campaign by planting saplings at Rose Garden Park, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar. On the occasion, he urged people to plant more trees and take responsibility for their care, emphasizing that a green environment is essential for ensuring a healthy and secure future for coming generations.
Speaking to the media, Inderpal Singh Raja said that rising pollution, global warming, and the declining number of trees have become major challenges for humanity. He stressed that every individual should plant at least one sapling in their lifetime and nurture it until it grows into a tree. He added that planting trees alone is not enough—their proper care and maintenance are equally important.
He further said that social organizations, welfare associations, and the youth should actively participate in environmental conservation to make the city greener and pollution-free. According to him, if every family plants and nurtures just one tree, a significant positive change in the environment can be achieved within a few years.
Present on the occasion were Jagjit Singh Suchhu, President of Ranjit Avenue E-Block Welfare Association; Advocate S.S. Padda, General Secretary; Ranveer Singh Gill, Senior Vice President; Dilbag Singh Dhanju, Vice President; Jaswant Singh Chhina; Jagdish Singh Chahal, Park Manager; Sahil Nanda, Finance Secretary; Rajinder Singh Lovely; Manjit Singh Sekhon (Working Committee Member), along with several members of the Ranjit Avenue Welfare Society.
Concluding the event, Inderpal Singh Raja said that planting trees is not only a social responsibility but also a duty towards humanity. He appealed to the public to turn tree plantation into a mass movement so that future generations inherit a cleaner, greener, and healthier Punjab.
