Amritsar, June 30 (K.L. Jit Walia): Advocate Harpal Singh Nijjar, Chairman of the Aam Aadmi Party Legal Wing (Majha Zone), President of the Ajnala Bar Association, and President of the Amritsar Block, said that the Chief Minister’s Mahila Maan-Samman Scheme, launched on July 1, marks a historic step toward strengthening the dignity and empowerment of Punjab’s mothers, sisters, and daughters.
Speaking to journalists, Advocate Nijjar said that under the leadership of Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the scheme has generated widespread enthusiasm and happiness among women across the state.
He said that for the first time in Punjab’s history, a government has introduced an initiative that links women with both dignity and economic empowerment. According to him, the scheme is not merely financial assistance but also an effort to strengthen women’s social participation, self-confidence, and role within their families.
Advocate Nijjar stated that the Aam Aadmi Party is fulfilling its promises to the people one by one. He said that initiatives in education, healthcare, electricity, employment, and now women’s empowerment demonstrate that public welfare remains the government’s highest priority.
He added that the financial assistance provided under the scheme would help women meet their daily expenses while strengthening household finances. He expressed confidence that the initiative would directly benefit millions of families and make women more financially independent.
Advocate Nijjar further said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is continuously working for the welfare of every section of society and will introduce more people-centric initiatives in the future. He congratulated the women of Punjab on the launch of the scheme, describing it as the beginning of a new chapter of social and economic transformation in the state.
