MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta Assures Traders That Genuine Demands Will Be Addressed Soon
Amritsar, June 16 (K.L. Jit Walia): With the objective of understanding traders’ concerns at the grassroots level and ensuring their prompt resolution, the Punjab State Trader Commission organized a special meeting today at Majitha Mandi.
The meeting was chaired by Abhishek Bansal, Vice Chairman of the Punjab State Trader Commission, Amritsar District, while MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta attended as the chief guest.
Also present on the occasion were Sanjeev Lali, In-Charge of the Central Constituency Trade Wing, Jagsimran Singh, President of the Dal Mandi Association, and Councillor Vicky Dutta.
During the meeting, traders and association members from Majitha Mandi and Dal Mandi presented their concerns and demands in detail. They highlighted issues related to infrastructure, sanitation, traffic management, parking facilities, and other business-related amenities, urging authorities to resolve them at the earliest.
After carefully listening to the concerns raised by the traders, Abhishek Bansal and Dr. Ajay Gupta assured them that all legitimate issues would be taken up with the concerned departments and resolved on a priority basis.
Addressing the gathering, Abhishek Bansal stated that the Punjab Government is fully committed to safeguarding the interests of traders and that the Trader Commission is continuously working in this direction. He emphasized that the commission’s objective is not only to listen to complaints but also to ensure their timely resolution.
He said:
> “We will personally reach out to every traders’ and shopkeepers’ association in Amritsar, listen to their problems, and make every possible effort to resolve them. The trading community is the backbone of Punjab’s economy, and addressing their concerns is our foremost priority.”
MLA Dr. Ajay Gupta reiterated that the government stands firmly with the trading community and that their genuine demands will not be ignored. He assured traders that every possible step would be taken to provide a better business environment and improved facilities.
Among those present were B.K. Bajaj, President of the Indo Foreign Chamber of Commerce, Secretary Tarlok Singh, Rajesh Chhabra, Varun Naveta, Bobby Bedi, Kirti Arora, Raj Arora, Happy Arora, Mukesh Sindhwani, Narinder Gupta, Kishore Khurana, along with a large number of traders and members of various associations.
The traders appreciated the initiative taken by the Trader Commission to directly interact with them and hear their concerns. They expressed hope that this effort would help resolve several long-pending issues at the earliest.
