Amritsar, June 12 (K.L. Jit Walia):Senior Congress leader Mamta Dutta criticized the Punjab government, stating that its anti-people policies have created a situation resembling “jungle raj” in the state. Following the directions of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Raja Warring, Congress workers organized a strong protest in the East Assembly constituency area.
During the protest, a large number of Congress workers and local residents gathered near the Jora Phatak area and expressed their anger by scattering the bristles of a broom, the election symbol of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Speaking to journalists, Mamta Dutta said that the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab on the basis of false promises but has completely failed in governance. She alleged that the government is adopting an authoritarian attitude toward government employees, private-sector workers, and the general public, which is a matter of concern for democracy.
Mamta Dutta further said that the law-and-order situation in Punjab has deteriorated significantly. Traders are reportedly receiving extortion threats on a regular basis, and incidents of violence occurring in broad daylight have created an atmosphere of fear among the public. She alleged that the administration has failed to control the situation.
She added that the people of Punjab are now ready for change and have made up their minds to bring Congress back to power in 2027. According to her, the time has come for the people of Punjab to scatter every bristle of the broom and show the Aam Aadmi Party the way out of power. A large number of Congress office-bearers and party workers were present during the protest.
