Meetings Will Be Held in Every Constituency: Danny Bandala
Amritsar, June 10 (K.L. Jit Walia):- Following the directions of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), an important meeting of rural Congress leaders and workers was held today at the office of the District Congress Committee, Amritsar Rural, under the leadership of Moti Sehgal. The meeting focused on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and the correction of electoral rolls.
Prominent leaders present at the meeting included District Congress President Sukhwinder Singh Danny, Majitha Constituency In-charge Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachar, former MLA Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Dilraj Singh Sarkaria, former MLA Santokh Singh Bhalaipur, and several other party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Moti Sehgal emphasized that accurate and transparent voter lists are essential for strengthening democracy. He stated that every Congress leader and worker has a responsibility to carefully verify voter lists in their respective areas and ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls.
During the meeting, party leaders shared guidelines issued by the Pradesh Congress and announced that workers would be mobilized from the booth level to the constituency level to identify and rectify errors in voter lists. Special awareness campaigns will also be launched to encourage youth, women, and first-time voters to exercise their democratic rights.
The leaders reiterated that the Congress Party remains committed to protecting democratic values and will make every effort to ensure the successful implementation of the voter list revision process. Workers were urged to reach out to residents door-to-door and immediately report any voter list-related issues to party leaders and election authorities.
The meeting concluded with all leaders and workers pledging to implement the party’s directions at the grassroots level and work dedicatedly towards strengthening democracy. It was also announced that booth-level meetings would be organized in every constituency over the coming days to spread awareness regarding the SIR process.
Among those present were former Chairman Gurmeet Singh Bhilowal, Sukhraj Singh Randhawa, Navdeep Singh Sona, block presidents, BLAs, and other party workers.
