Amritsar, June 10 (K.L. Jit Walia): To further strengthen the Punjab Government’s “War Against Drugs” campaign being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the District Amritsar Urban Unit today launched the “E-Rickshaw cum Mobile Complaint Box” initiative at Bhandari Bridge.
The campaign was formally flagged off by Jaskaran Singh Bandesha, Vice Chairman of the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation and Lok Sabha Constituency In-charge of the party, Prabhbir Singh Brar, Chairman of PUNSUP, and Dikshit Dhawan, Majha Coordinator of the Nasha Mukti Morcha.
Addressing the gathering, Jaskaran Singh Bandesha said that under this initiative, e-rickshaws will travel across every Assembly constituency, ward, and locality of Amritsar city to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and mobilize citizens against drug abuse.
He further informed that each e-rickshaw has been equipped with a special complaint box where citizens can anonymously submit information regarding drug traffickers. He assured that any information received through these complaint boxes would be acted upon promptly, and strict legal action would be taken against those involved in drug trafficking.
Bandesha emphasized that public participation can significantly strengthen efforts to curb the drug menace and make anti-drug operations more effective.
PUNSUP Chairman Prabhbir Singh Brar appealed to the people to actively support the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign so that the evil of drugs can be eradicated from every neighborhood, street, and household. He stated that the Mann Government has launched a decisive drive against drugs and that positive results have already begun to emerge. He also appreciated the efforts of volunteers associated with the Nasha Mukti Morcha.
The event was organized under the leadership of Dikshit Dhawan, Majha Zone In-charge of the Nasha Mukti Morcha Punjab. He said that the “E-Rickshaw cum Mobile Complaint Box” campaign will initially cover all Assembly constituencies within Amritsar city and will later be extended to the remaining constituencies of the district.
Dhawan urged people to actively join the anti-drug movement and contribute towards making Punjab drug-free and restoring the spirit of a vibrant and prosperous Punjab.
Among those present on the occasion were Honey Nahar (District Vice President, Amritsar Urban), Manjit Singh Fauji (South Constituency In-charge), Jai Kush Buttar (Central Constituency In-charge), Sahib Singh Gill (East Constituency In-charge), Rahul Seth (North Constituency In-charge), Kulwant Singh Wadali (West Constituency In-charge), along with a large number of party workers and leaders.
