Amritsar, June 7 (Phulljeet Singh Varpal): A special blood donation camp dedicated to the memory of the 1984 Ghallughara Day was organized by the Akal Purakh Ki Fauj Panthak Talmel Organization, drawing enthusiastic participation from social workers and members of the public.
During this humanitarian initiative, Jaswinder Singh Shergill, Vice Chairman of the Punjab Pradesh Congress SC Department and Councillor, attended the camp as a special guest. He not only encouraged blood donors but also personally donated blood, setting an inspiring example of selfless service.
Speaking on the occasion, Shergill said that blood donation is one of the greatest acts of humanity, as it helps save precious lives. He emphasized that while remembering the martyrs of the 1984 Ghallughara, society should continue to promote the values of service, unity, and brotherhood.
The organizers stated that local residents and various social organizations extended full support in making the camp a success. They added that such initiatives help create awareness among people and inspire the younger generation to embrace the spirit of community service.
Leaders of the organization appreciated Councillor Shergill’s participation and noted that his involvement significantly boosted the morale of both the organizers and the donors.
