Amritsar, May 10 (K.L. jit Walia) – Mother’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Shaheed Baba Pratap Singh Memorial Middle and Senior Secondary School, Sultanwind Road, under the leadership of School Management Committee President S. Pargat Singh Dhunna. On this occasion, a drawing and painting competition was organized in honor of mothers.
Apart from the students of the school, children from Sant Sohan Singh Academy, Focal Point, and MGK Sacred Dales School, Gurdev Nagar, Tarn Taran Road, also participated enthusiastically in the competition. Through their pencil sketches and artwork, the children beautifully portrayed a mother’s love in different forms.
Students securing first, second, and third positions in the competition were awarded prizes and certificates by President Pargat Singh Dhunna and members of the management committee. Other participating children were also encouraged with certificates and medals.
Speaking on the occasion, President Pargat Singh Dhunna said that a mother is the second form of God. Principal Madam Iqbal Kaur explained the importance of mothers to the children and said that the status of a mother is equal to that of God. She added that all of us achieve success in life through the love, blessings, and sacrifices of our mothers, and therefore, we should always remain grateful to them.
During the event, Sahil Bakhar, General Secretary of United Amateur Sports Academy, which organized the program, honored the school president and members of the management committee with shields and ceremonial robes.
On this occasion, Principal Mrs. Sukhraj Kaur and Vice Principal Madam Eshu from Sant Sohan Singh Academy, Principal Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur and teacher Navraj Singh from MGK School, along with management committee members Gurcharan Singh Dhunna, Kawaljit Singh Kanda, Gurnam Singh Kanda, and Baljit Singh were present.
Branch School Principal Mrs. Iqbal Kaur, Administrator S. Avtar Singh, and all teaching staff members also attended the event.
