Demand Raised for Strict Enforcement of Cow Protection Laws and Financial Support for Gaushalas

Activists from various social and religious organizations, under the banner of the “Cow Honour Appeal Campaign”, staged a demonstration and submitted a memorandum to the district administration demanding greater protection and respect for cows.
The programme was held under the patronage of Aarti Deva Ji of Kartar Nagar, Chheharta, and chaired by noted social worker Satish Ballu. A large number of men and women participated in the gathering, raising slogans in support of cow protection.
The activists submitted a memorandum to Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rupinder Pal Singh, demanding a complete ban on cow smuggling in the state, the construction of adequate gaushalas (cow shelters) for stray cattle, and strict implementation of existing cow protection laws. They also sought financial assistance for gaushalas to ensure proper care of abandoned and stray cattle.
Among those present were Sant Hari Narayan Giri Ji, representatives of ISKCON Temple, Vrindavan Garden, Pankaj Devesar, Arvind Sharma (Cow Protector), Councillor Sunita Sharma, Councillor Rajni Sharma, Raman Rammi, Dr. Rohan Mehra, Vinay Vashishth, Anil Kumar Dara, Deepak Devgan, Advocate Krishna Devgan, Master Tarsem Lal, Raman Pandit, Ajay Kumar, Abhishek Abhi, Sumit Shastri Ji, Balwinder Billu Ji, and several other dignitaries.
Speakers said that the cow holds a significant place in India’s cultural heritage and agricultural tradition, emphasizing that Indian society cannot be imagined without its contribution. They appealed to the youth to actively participate in cow care and protection initiatives.
On the occasion, social worker Satish Ballu announced that the next phase of the campaign would involve submitting memorandums to the Chief Ministers of all states across the country on October 27, 2026. He warned that if concrete measures are still not taken for the protection and welfare of cows, cow protection activists across the country would be compelled to launch an indefinite hunger strike.
