The Miri-Piri Khalsa March, being carried out under the holy patronage of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the leadership of Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, commenced its next phase today from Gurdwara Sri Baoli Sahib, Goindwal Sahib. The march passed through Fatehabad, Chapri Sahib, Jamaraye, and other locations before reaching Chohla Sahib, where devotees warmly welcomed the procession with flower petals and a large gathering.
On the occasion, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the Miri-Piri Khalsa March will conclude at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on August 4, 2026. He added that the overwhelming response from the Sikh community may encourage the SGPC to organize similar marches in other parts of Punjab to connect more youth with Sikh teachings.
Addressing the gathering, Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gargajj alleged that certain forces and agencies are attempting to weaken Sikh institutions by misleading innocent Sikh youth through social media and inciting them against Panthic organizations. He urged the Sikh community to remain connected with Gurbani and the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and encouraged young people to follow the path of Gursikhi.
Bibi Ramandeep Kaur, in-charge of the Shiromani Akali Dal for the Khadoor Sahib constituency, who has been serving the march for the past two days, appreciated the SGPC’s continuous efforts to connect youth with Sikh values. She also thanked the entire preaching team, preachers, Dhadi groups, and Kavishar performers for their dedication.
Avtar Singh Billa expressed gratitude to the villagers at every halt for their warm reception and support for the march.
SGPC Secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan said that the march has received an overwhelming response from devotees across the region. Villagers welcomed the procession with flower showers and organized community kitchens (Langars) at various places as a mark of seva.
