Amritsar, July 24 (Phulljeet Singh Varpal): Continuing its annual commitment to environmental conservation, the Akal Seva Foundation has launched a special tree plantation campaign to promote greenery and protect the environment. On the occasion, social worker Sarbjit Singh Sonu (Jandiala) planted saplings and encouraged people to actively participate in the campaign by planting more trees.
Speaking to the media, Sarbjit Singh Sonu said that the Earth’s temperature is rising continuously and indiscriminate deforestation has become a serious threat to the environment. He warned that if tree cutting is not stopped and new trees are not planted, the day is not far when people will struggle to get clean air to breathe.
He said that nature has blessed humanity with priceless resources, and every citizen has a moral responsibility to contribute towards environmental protection. Trees support human life from birth until the very end and play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance and ensuring a healthy future.
Sonu further informed that the Akal Seva Foundation plants thousands of trees every year and will continue this large-scale plantation drive this year as well to make the environment greener and healthier. He appealed to people from all sections of society to join the campaign, saying, “Let us all come together to plant trees and create a clean, green, and sustainable environment for future generations.”
He added that the Akal Seva Foundation will continue undertaking welfare initiatives in the future for the protection of air, water, land, and the environment.
