Amritsar, July 1 (K.L. Jit Walia): The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has officially launched the “Mothers and Daughters Honor Scheme”, a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening the financial independence and dignity of women. During the state-level event held in Dhuri, the Chief Minister transferred the scheme’s financial assistance directly into the bank accounts of lakhs of women across Punjab by pressing the launch button.
The announcement was welcomed with great enthusiasm among women in Amritsar East Assembly constituency.
Sharing details, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur said that although she attended the main event in Dhuri alongside the Chief Minister, a special celebration was also organized in Amritsar East, where a large number of women gathered to welcome the scheme and express their happiness.
Speaking to the media, many women became emotional while thanking Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party government. They said the scheme had enhanced the dignity of daughters and that the government stands with them like a family in every phase of life. The smiles and excitement on their faces reflected the success and significance of the initiative.
MLA Jeevanjot Kaur thanked all the women of her constituency for participating in the event and extended her congratulations to them. She also clarified an important issue regarding the transfer of funds.
She said, “Many beneficiaries have already received the amount in their bank accounts today. Those who have not yet received the payment need not worry. Due to banking and technical procedures, it may take some time. All eligible beneficiaries will receive the amount very soon.”
