World Punjabi Sabha Canada Malwa Zone Organizes Grand Ceremony
Moga, June 6 (K.L. Jit Walia): A special felicitation ceremony dedicated to the birthday of Dr. Dalbir Singh Kathuria, Chairman of World Punjabi Sabha Canada, an organization working globally for the promotion and preservation of the Punjabi language, was organized with great enthusiasm.
The event was held under the blessings of Dr. Dalbir Singh Kathuria and with the support of World Punjabi Sabha Canada India President Satbir Singh Sifar, Dr. Manjit Singh Dhillon, and Baba Farid Gurukul Institutions, Kotkapura. The programme was organized under the guidance of Punjab President Dalbir Singh Riyar and the leadership of Malwa Zone President Rajvir Singh Sandhu.
Prominent personalities attending the event included Tehsildar Mangu Bansal of Baghapurana, DSP Jasbinder Singh Khaira, World Punjabi Sabha Canada India President Satbir Singh Sifar, renowned comedian Ghulleshah, Dr. Manjit Singh Dhillon, National President Harnek Singh Ladian, Sohan Singh Gaidu, and Dr. Amarjyoti Mangat.
On the occasion, 85 meritorious students from various districts and schools of the Malwa region were specially honoured for their academic achievements. The students were presented with mementoes, mugs, diaries, language kits, and traditional 35-letter Punjabi shawls as tokens of encouragement and appreciation.
Several speakers addressed the gathering and shared valuable messages on education, health, sports, and moral values. Vinod Verma, Director of Wisdom Kota Classes, encouraged students to set high goals, work hard, and strive for excellence in their chosen fields.
Dr. Jaswinder Kaur urged children to respect their parents, honour their mothers, and stay away from negative influences. Satbir Singh Sifar motivated students to actively participate in sports alongside their studies and maintain good physical health.
Popular comedian Ghulleshah entertained the audience with his unique style while also spreading awareness about water conservation and the importance of planting more trees.
During the programme, Dr. Surjit Singh Daudhar, Prof. Jagdeep Singh Mangat, Dr. Amarjyoti Mangat, and several other speakers also shared their thoughts. The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by noted litterateur Dr. Sadhu Ram Langeana.
Special guests and dignitaries attending the event were also honoured. In his concluding remarks, Malwa Zone President Rajvir Singh Sandhu thanked all guests, students, and their parents for making the event a success. A sweetened cold-water ‘Chhabeel’ service was also organized on the occasion.
The event was attended by Mukand Lal Thapar, Director of SMD Institutions, Harminder Singh Gill, Chairman of Veer Singh School, and many other distinguished personalities from the region. The ceremony proved to be a memorable occasion dedicated to recognizing and encouraging young talent.
