Maha Shivratri celebrated with devotion at Krishna Dham Temple, Green Avenue
Amritsar, February 16 — The sacred festival of Maha Shivratri was celebrated with great devotion, enthusiasm, and spiritual fervor at Krishna Dham Temple. The temple premises were beautifully decorated with flowers, colorful lights, and traditional ornaments, creating a deeply devotional atmosphere.
The program was organized under the supervision of Pandit Duni Chand and Pandit Deena Bandhu. Devotees began arriving early in the morning. Ritual worship of Lord Shiva, Rudrabhishek, and special aarti were performed, while chants of “Om Namah Shivaya” and “Har Har Mahadev” echoed throughout the temple.
On this occasion, noted neurosurgeon Dr. Raghav Wadhwa attended as a special guest. Along with social workers Suraj Wadhwa, Neeraj Khanna, Jatin Tank, Deepak Arora, and Rahul Arora, he offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and the welfare of society. Devotees collectively prayed for harmony, unity, and goodwill.
Pandit Duni Chand stated that Maha Shivratri symbolizes self-purification, discipline, and devotion, and sincere prayers on this day bring special blessings of Lord Shiva. Pandit Deena Bandhu explained the spiritual significance of the festival, saying it inspires people to follow the path of truth, compassion, and service.
Bhajan-kirtan was also organized, where devotees participated with deep devotion. Prasad distribution and community langar were arranged, and a large number of devotees partook. The organizing committee ensured cleanliness and smooth arrangements for everyone.
Dr. Raghav Wadhwa said that religious festivals bring society together and provide positive energy, adding that such occasions offer an opportunity for self-reflection and spiritual balance in busy lives. Social worker Suraj Wadhwa also noted that such events strengthen social unity and encourage a spirit of service.
The temple management committee expressed gratitude to all devotees, supporters, and dignitaries. The entire atmosphere at the temple remained immersed in devotion and faith as people prayed for peace, happiness, and prosperity.
