Amritsar, January 26 (Punjab Media Times Team):- On the proud occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, Punjab Media Times newspaper was specially honored for its impartial, fearless, and public-interest-oriented journalism during a district-level समारोह held at Guru Nanak Stadium, Amritsar. The honor was received by Editor-in-Chief K.L. Jeet Walia.
The award was jointly presented by Punjab Cabinet Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Mundian (Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management; Water Supply and Sanitation; Housing Construction and Urban Development), Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Shri Dalwinderjit Singh, and Police Commissioner Amritsar S. Addressing the gathering, the guests said that Punjab Media Times has honestly fulfilled its responsibility as the fourth pillar of democracy and has consistently prioritized social concerns, public issues, administrative accountability, and truthful journalism. They praised the newspaper’s strong voice against drugs, corruption, and social evils, calling it commendable and inspirational.
While accepting the honor, Editor-in-Chief K.L. Jeet Walia thanked the Punjab Government, district administration, and police administration. He stated that this recognition belongs not to one individual but to the entire Punjab Media Times team, its hardworking journalists, and readers who believe in honest journalism. He reaffirmed that the newspaper will continue to write fearlessly in the public interest without any pressure.
Notably, the grand district-level ceremony also featured impressive parades by the army, police, and school children, along with patriotic cultural performances and programs conveying the message of national unity, making the event truly historic.
