Batala/Gurdaspur, January 16, Sarvjeet Singh Kalsi:Following the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, and under the leadership of Mera Yuva Bharat, Gurdaspur, the Border Sports and Welfare Club, Batala, celebrated National Youth Day with great enthusiasm, zeal, and reverence. A large number of young people participated in the event, making the occasion memorable.
During the program, Club Chairman Shri Tej Pratap Singh Kahlon addressed the youth and said that National Youth Day is observed every year from January 12 to 19 with the main objective of motivating young people to play an active role in the progress of the nation.
He stated that youth are the backbone of any country and society, and guiding them in the right direction is a collective responsibility. Speaking about the life and invaluable teachings of Swami Vivekananda, he said that Swami Vivekananda’s life is a great source of inspiration for the youth. By following his thoughts and ideals, social, economic, and national development can be achieved.
He urged the youth to strengthen their future by engaging in education, sports, and social service.
On this occasion, Sukhwinder Singh, Ram Singh, and other speakers also shared their views and appealed to the youth to stay away from drugs and other social evils. They emphasized that young people who remain involved in disciplined, positive, and constructive activities secure a bright and safe future for themselves. The youth were encouraged to make service to the nation, society, and family their primary goal.
At the conclusion of the program, the participating youth collectively took a pledge to stay away from drugs and other harmful practices, and to contribute to the nation’s progress by upholding social service, patriotism, and moral values.
