Amritsar (K.L. Jit Walia): On the occasion of the fifth death anniversary of renowned Sikh thinker, founder-president of The Sikh Forum, former Honorary Secretary of the Chief Khalsa Diwan, former Vice-President and Honorary Secretary of the Khalsa College Governing Council, and former Organizing Secretary of the All India Sikh Students Federation, Late Sardar Bhag Singh Ankhi, he was remembered with deep respect and श्रद्धा.
Sardar Bhag Singh Ankhi dedicated his life to the service of the Sikh community, education and humanity. He played an important role in transforming the Central Khalsa Orphanage and continuously worked for the welfare and upliftment of poor and orphaned children.
He remained associated with several social and Sikh organizations and worked to strengthen the principle of “Vidhya Vichari Tan Parupkari” — the idea that education and thoughtful learning should lead to service and welfare of others. His vision, spirit of service and dedication to society gave him a distinctive identity.
Through the establishment of The Sikh Forum, he promoted serious discussions and dialogue on Sikh issues and challenges faced by the Sikh community. His services in organizations including the Chief Khalsa Diwan and Khalsa College Governing Council will always be remembered with great respect.
On his fifth death anniversary, members of the Sikh community and personalities associated with various organizations paid heartfelt tributes to him. They said that the life of Bhag Singh Ankhi was an inspiring example of service, education and philanthropy. His contributions towards public welfare will continue to inspire future generations.
The service, simplicity and dedication of Late Sardar Bhag Singh Ankhi towards the Sikh Panth will always be remembered with respect.
