Amritsar, August 24 (K.L. Jit Walia): MLA from Amritsar East Assembly constituency Mrs. Jeevanjot Kaur today inaugurated a project for removing high-voltage overhead wires and installing single-cable wiring in Ward No. 33. The project will be completed at an estimated cost of ₹2.5 crore under the Punjab Government’s ‘Rangla Punjab Scheme’.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur said that development works are continuing across Amritsar East and the Punjab Government is making continuous efforts to provide better and safer basic infrastructure to residents. She said that under the ‘Rangla Punjab Scheme’, high-voltage wires are being removed and single-cable wiring is being installed in various areas of the constituency.
The MLA said that residents of the area had been demanding for a long time that the high-voltage wires passing close to their houses be removed. Responding to this longstanding demand, the state government has initiated the project to remove the high-voltage wires and install single-cable wiring.
She said the project would help reduce the risk of accidents and provide residents with a safer and more organized electricity infrastructure.
MLA Jeevanjot Kaur further said that the Punjab Government is working on a priority basis to resolve problems faced by residents in every ward of the constituency. Providing better facilities and addressing public grievances in a timely manner remain her key priorities, she added.
Local residents appreciated the initiative of the Punjab Government and MLA Jeevanjot Kaur and expressed their gratitude. They said that removal of the high-voltage wires and installation of single-cable wiring would bring a significant improvement in safety in the area and fulfil a long-pending demand of the residents.
